SUMMARY
The HR Specialist maintains records for: Personnel, HRMS, Contracts and Salary Notices, Leaves of Absence, Cost Analysis, Employee Benefits, Contract Administration. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist performs highly complex and specialized HR functions relating to employment, employee benefits, employee relations and resignations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in computer programs. Must be independent thinking. Must be able to handle personal, confidential, HIPAA related, and information used in collective bargaining. The ability to work cooperatively with others and to take instruction. Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.
Abilities: An ability to handle confidential matters, set priorities, work well under pressure, with an attention to detail, and self- motivated; excellent organization ability and excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills. PC skills – Microsoft Excel and Word. Must have analytical and problem solving skills; be flexible and have outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and organize work. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Education and Experience: A degree in business related field is preferred. Should have at least three years’ experience in human resources or related field. Experience in staffing also preferred. Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
