Job Summary
As a Manager of Operations at CFI Logistics, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and monitoring a high-performance team to ensure the highest levels of customer service are being met. You will ensure all operational objectives and services are achieved on time, on budget, and in an efficient manner. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with extensive knowledge of the transportation industry.
Essential Duties:
· Responsible for hiring, evaluating, and managing assigned personnel.
· Resolve customer, carrier, and employee issues as needed.
· Collaborate with sales to discuss strategies to grow current business and receive more opportunities.
· Assist with spot-market pricing and analyzing customer bids.
· Review, develop, and implement work instructions and establish benchmarks, goals, and objectives for operations personnel.
· Authorize and schedule employee vacation and assign replacement personnel as necessary
· Develop direct reports and ensure they receive the appropriate training and resources to perform their job duties effectively and efficiently.
· Handle all management level responsibilities for staff, including performance reviews, employee development, terminations, and coaching/counseling.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure business objectives are met.
· Recommend changes for staffing levels, employee pay, and work schedules as necessary
· Perform any other duties as required or assigned
Education and Experience:
College degree in Logistics, Marketing, or another business related area is preferred, will accept an equivalent combination of education and experience. This role requires 3-5 years’ experience in the transportation industry preferably in the 3PL market.
