C&G Partners is a multi-specialty creative studio, dedicated to design for culture. We focus on design and user experience, making sure that our creations are elegant, engaging, seamlessly integrated, and efficient. We do this by creating carefully tailored designs that follow industry standards and best practices, ensuring that our work is not just visually appealing, but also well-built and sustainable.
We have an immediate opening for a mid-level graphic designer for interdisciplinary projects including exhibits, experiences, branding, and interactive. This position is ideal for an experienced designer with 4-6 years of solid experience working in a collaborative environment. The designer is involved in the full life of projects: with concept creation, developing options, creating presentations, defending design ideas visually and verbally, oversight and development of final art. We are looking for a designer who is positive, passionate, and has new ideas to share.
Our studio is unique: we undertake projects that involve multiple kinds of in-house design specialists at the same time, from media designers, to architects, graphic designers, writers and more. Projects will always encompass more than one design discipline, and we welcome designers who are interested in working across fields.
Responsibilities
– Collaborating with lead designers while mentoring less-experienced designers, and capable of both following lead designers and leading independent projects
– Pushing the boundaries of graphic design excellence for this client type
– Excellent verbal and written communication, including directly with clients
– Advanced work in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
– Collaborate and coordinate work with team, including other graphic designers, 3D designers, content team, media team, and outside consultants
– Liaise with exhibit fabricator, project architect, and client
– Help plan project timelines
Requirements
– Excellent design skills
– Excellent typography skills
– Well-versed in working with imagery, visual systems, color, and grids
– 4-6 years of experience
– Advanced skills in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
– HTML, AfterEffects, 3D software like SketchUp are all a plus but are not required
– Experience reading architectural drawings is a plus but we can teach you
– A well-organized and detail-oriented, can-do attitude
– Flexibility to work independently and be a team player when necessary
– Comfort working as part of a team and leading junior designers
– Positive attitude and takes criticism well
– Self-motivated and independent thinker with strong communication skills
– Organized and able to follow up on long and short-term projects
– Ability and willingness to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
– Articulate and poised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Experience working any of the following is plus but not required: exhibitions, media installations, signage and environmental graphics
– Our company is located in New York City, primarily because a significant portion of our work involves hands-on tasks such as examining materials and collaborating closely with our team. Therefore, we are specifically seeking candidates who are based locally to ensure seamless participation in these on-site activities. We are currently a hybrid workplace with optional in-office days.

Salary range: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00
