Site Reliability Engineer

Overview of Position
The Site Reliability Engineer ensures software availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency as well as maintain system configuration. They will provide the day-to-day support and service restoration for all production applications and collaborate with other IT functional groups to coordinate system, product and application upgrades/enhancements.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Supporting Alerting and monitoring systems for multiple applications
• Maintain and improve the company’s cloud infrastructure currently in AWS.Incident management processes including outage troubleshooting.
• Altering code base to enhance security and stability.
• Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills
• Strong networking knowledge and experience is highly desired.
• Must be able to work independently and self-directed, as well as, within a team.
• Enhance the company’s IT infrastructure security protocols
• Some rotational on-call support, approximately 6 weeks per year spread throughout the year, and additionally as larger issues require.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• 2+ years of experience with Linux operating systems
• 2+ years of experience with Windows Server operating system
• Experience working with virtualization Platforms as VMWare, AWS, Nutanix AHV.
• Familiarity with SQL (MSSQL and MYSQL), .NET, Java, AWS

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

• Cloud experience – AWS
• AWS Certified or willing to work toward AWS Certifications.

Required Knowledge and Skill

• BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
• Primary Skills: Knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems. Familiarity with SQL (MSSQL and MYSQL), .NET, Java, AWS
• AWS Certified or willing to work toward AWS Certifications.
• Experience working with virtualization Platforms as VMWare, AWS, Nutanix AHV.
• DEVOPS responsibilities including deploying code
• Supporting Alerting and monitoring systems for multiple applications
• Maintain and improve the company’s cloud infrastructure currently in AWS.
• Linux system administration experience required with at least 2+ years of administering RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu Linux based systems with minimal support, to include Linux subsystems, patching, packaging (rpm), performance tuning, networking, user management, and security.
• Windows system administration experience required with at least 2+ years of administering systems running IIS on Windows Server with minimal support. Experience should include performance tuning, networking, user management, and security.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet (Ansible Tower experience a plus)
• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD processes for enterprise SaaS and on-prem applications using tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitLab etc.
