The Inventory Analyst/ Cost Accountant will be responsible for preparing inventory related journal entries, process inventory transactions, inventory analysis, and drive continuous improvement.

Job Qualifications

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial close analysis and entries for assigned business units (e.g. inventory reserves, inventory cost variances, balance sheet reconciliations)
• Analyze inventory activity by location and generate accruals as needed.
• Reconcile monthly inventory for each assigned site.
• Analyze inventory costs and provide updated standard costs updates to Inventory Controller.
• Gather and consolidate monthly inventory data analytics.
• Manage annual inventory count process at assigned sites including final reconciliation of results.
• Various inventory analyses as needed.
• Support SOX inventory controls and requirements for assigned areas.
• Ensure compliance with all Charles River inventory policies for assigned areas.
• Perform all other related duties and or special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associates/Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Finance/Accounting.
• 3-5 years or more experience working in accounting/analyst/cost accountant positions.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• 5% travel may be needed for year-end audit

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
