JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting Charter s Northeast Region State Government Affairs Group Vice President and working with the entire Northeast Region SGA team. This position will report to the North East Region GVP.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing administrative assistance, such as preparing draft letters, memos and other communications for the GVP’s review
Heavy scheduling, organizing meetings (in person and virtual), and organizing catering for various meetings and events when necessary
Managing the GVP’s day-to-day calendar
Receiving, recording and processing invoices due for payments in accordance with company procedures
Requesting purchase orders in company system
Setting up new vendors in company system
Checking for accuracy in reports, figures and postings
Reconciling and resolving any discrepancies found in invoice payment process
Assisting with budget management
Producing a variety of reports including monthly budget actuals analysis and quarterly budget forecasts
Posting financial transactions in spreadsheets and trackers
Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records, documents and reports
Preparing cover letters for certain payments
Coordinating travel arrangements in Concur and creating trip itineraries
Preparing and submitting monthly expense and purchase card reports
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
High level of integrity and trustworthiness
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills using various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to prepare reports and/or special projects
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Strong organizational capabilities and experience with basic accounting, accounts receivable and budgeting
Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Budgeting skills and bookkeeping background
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business, political science or related field or equivalent experience
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Political/government experience
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES
Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record within the Company required standards and auto insurance

Knowledge of government and/or legislative process a plus
Understanding of state and local government regulations preferred
Knowledge of organization policies and practices
