The Senior Project Specialist is an owner of, and expert in, large parts of their job function, has exceptional communication and customer service skills, takes initiative, and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment. When it comes to solving critical issues, the Senior Project Specialist demonstrates outstanding critical thinking, the ability to corral the correct team members across departments and delivers a wholistic solution with urgency and precision.
As a senior member of the Engineering team, the Senior Project Specialist must be able to successfully lead a technical project with up to $1M in value. The Senior Project Specialist will design, configure and deploy new or upgrade existing, physical, virtual and cloud network, server, communication platforms and classroom and education technologies. Larger projects may have 1-3 junior technicians assigned, in which case the Senior Project Specialist will operate in a mentor and supervisor capacity.
The Senior Project Specialist will set network and system design and configuration standards, create supporting documentation, and provide training to other team members at CTS. The Senior Project Specialist will act as the technical escalation point for the rest of the Professional Services and Service Delivery departments. The Senior Project Specialist will coordinate with the Sales, Solutions and Client Management teams to ensure technical standards are adhered to during project scoping.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
A high degree of proficiency in most of the below technologies is required for Senior Project Specialist:

Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure, etc.
*
Experience working with and designing networks using Cisco, HPE, Juniper, SonicWall or equivalent
*
Experience with server platforms such as Dell, HPE, Supermicro or equivalent
*
Microsoft, VMWare, experience a must, Linux experience preferred
*
Prior experience selling and/or implementing VoIP and SIP platforms
*
WLAN design skills utilizing toolsets such as Ekahau Pro, understanding core RF principles
QUALIFICATIONS:

8+ years of proven IT engineering experience, 2+ years in L3 or an equivalent lead role.

A minimum of CCNA level proficiency is required; CCNP is highly preferred
*
Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate complex information to technical and non- technical audiences. Must write proposals for school principals so they don’t need a red pen.

Proficiency with basic accounting and finance concepts and a high degree of financial literacy
*
Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized
*
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
REQUIRED CRITERIA FOR ALL LEVEL 4 EXPERTS:

CTS-Specific Knowledge Competencies: Networking: Able to conceive, plan and build business networks for most businesses with at least one vendor equipment set. Skillset at or comparable to Cisco CCNP or better Telecom: Able to design communications infrastructure for a significant sized enterprise.Voice, messaging, collaboration technologies Servers and Systems: Able to build a complex multi-node server cluster, storage and associated systems using two or more technology sets (MS, Unix, etc.). MCSE or equivalent experience. Systems and Data: Able to plan and deploy complex instance of primary tier cloud systems, such as Office 365 + SharePoint + Azure AD + Intune for a large customer. Coding: Able to create complex event-driven scripts and automation with basic GUI controls using one or more scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell. Delivery: Able to successfully lead a technical project (up to $1M in value) unassisted. Functionswith a high degree of autonomy and consistently demonstrates an ability to reduce the complexity of projects to obtain more efficient high-quality results. Able to do risk analysis and mitigation to foresee/prevent issues. Sets and documents technical standards for CTS with little direction. Aware of security implications of decisions. Communication and Leadership: Able to communicate effectively to all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Effectively facilitates consensus to reach a decision and is able to clearly communicate the decision. Anticipates CTS’s short- to mid-range needs and is able to create plans to improve them.
