Chef Driven Restaurant Group Hiring for Bookkeeper Job at New York, NY Full Time

The bookkeeper is responsible for computing, classifying and recording financial transactions to ensure the financial records of the organization are accurate. The bookkeeper also performs routine financial calculations and general ledger duties. The bookkeeper may also check the accuracy of calculations performed by other employees.

• 1. Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store and analyze information.
• 2. Checks figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes.
• 3. Classifies, records and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers
• 4. Debits, credits and totals accounts in computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
• 5. Receives, records and banks cash, checks and vouchers.
• 6. Complies with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.
• 7. Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.

Supervisory Responsibility- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment- This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel- No travel is expected for this position

Required Education and Experience

High school- High school diploma or equivalent plus two to three years’ previous experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree with accounting coursework preferred.
• At least three years of bookkeeping experience required, preferably in the Hospitality industry.
