Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business administration, or a related field; six years of professional human resources experience, to include two years of supervisory experience required. Prior recruitment, selection, and HRIS experience preferred. Master’s degree and possession of PHR/SPHR certification or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Chesterfield County Government is seeking qualified candidates for a Human Resource (HR) Manager.
This position is responsible for recruitment and selection and HR Information Systems (HRIS) operations, manages the Employment and HRIS teams; and requires continual analysis and interpretation with the ability to plan, develop and implement various projects.
Employment responsibilities include working with hiring departments to recruit for position vacancies and to develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract qualified applicants; coordinate executive recruitments; review and approve selection decisions; resolution of applicant and employment issues and concerns; onboarding of new employees; ensure policies and procedures are revised and consistent with employment related laws and the county’s EEO plan; manage the county’s applicant online system, including system enhancements; develop and prepare statistical and written reports; and conduct employment-related trainings.
HRIS responsibilities include managing the county’s HR Information System; ensure confidentiality and integrity of employee records; support the processing of personnel actions; manage the development and enhancement of HR system reports; support system maintenance of the HR modules, including testing for upgrades and system enhancements; and provide technical/troubleshooting for system-related issues. Perform special projects and perform other work as required.
