JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Assistant Controller SALARY RANGE: $4,129-$6,197/month Exempt Position

REPORTS TO: Corporate Controller

SUMMARY: The Assistant Controller provides guidance and manages all aspects of Accounts Receivable(A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), and Accounting Specialist. The Assistant Controller performs general accounting duties under the guidance of the Corporate Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Supervise A/R, A/P, and Accounting Specialist personnel and transactions.
• Provide backup to A/R, A/P, and Accounting Specialist positions and duties.
• Process commissions.
• Enter new customers.
• Prepare monthly reports, as assigned.
• Assist with Human Resources duties, as assigned.
• Assist Controller with tasks and projects, as assigned.
• Assist in special projects, as assigned.
• Manage accounting documents including archives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

• Knowledge and experience in finance and accounting.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Possess computer skills.
• Able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to sit for prolonged time periods.
• Comfortable working in a loud, distracting environment.
• Able to climb and descend stairs.
• Able to lift 50 pound boxes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise A/R, A/P, and Accounting Specialist personnel and transactions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in either finance or accounting and at least 2 years of experience, or 5 years of public accounting experience.
