Cisco Hiring For Senior Technical Leader – NSO Automation at Austin, TX Full Time

What You’ll Do & Who You’ll Work With

As a member of NSO team within the Cisco Networking DSE organization you will closely work with Solution architects and team leads to design and deliver components of new software and network orchestration features to automate provisioning of Ciscos solutions on the network.

You will collaborate with the Software Product Development team and Solutions architects to develop network services configuration automation software, orchestration and management tools. The software features will include instantiating virtual network functions (VNF) and/or container network functions (CNF) and/or configuring virtual and physical devices in the network. Larger part of your role would be in the Cisco Crossworks Network Controller (CNC) product engineering where you will work with Product managers, TMEs, CX, Account teams and rest of the broader automation engineering org to design, implement and drive adoption of CNC solution for multiple customers. You will be co-defining the roadmaps, groom the features, define the architecture for several important solutions within CNC.

You will

• Understand and analyze customer/solution use-cases to arrive at solution architectures on a scalable distributed system
• Design, code, test and deploy services as part of our configuration automation, written in Python & Java using industry leading NSO (network services orchestrator) platform
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by Solution test and/or Technical Support team
• Be part of Technical interlocks as NSO representative
• Contribute towards system flows working with the rest of the automation leads/PEs understanding both the larger picture (Controllers, Network Automation use cases) and component level details
• Arrive Solution Architectures – Cover to the team working with TME+PLM+CX+AT on solutions dependencies. Translating them for team (gap currently overall)
•  Comfortable in handling large scale projects, people and dependencies
• Highly collaborative in a matrix organization, committed and ready to walk extra mile to keep the customer commitments

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:

• BS in Computer Science with 15+ years of relevant industry experience or MS in Computer Science with 10+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with Network Automation, Orchestration and Controllers.
• Expert in Python, Java
• Experience in network orchestration design and development for any network provisioning and management solution
• Netowork operator experience with routing protocols, VPN services, Traffic engineering and Day 0/1/2 management
• Deep knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Familiarity with automated configuration and orchestration tools
• Working experience with Linux or other Unix-based systems
• Extensive experience with incremental development, testing, and deployment, as well as building and improving CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, GCP, OpenShift etc.
• Hands on experience working with NSO is a plus
• Working knowledge in Erlang is a plus
• Familiarity at usage/integration level for open source technologies like Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Data pipelines, zookeeper, Ansible etc.
