OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Auburn Police Department is committed to building a positive, proactive partnership with the citizens of Auburn and strives to be a premier law enforcement agency that is trusted, supported, and respected. The department is comprised of 135 staff to include: Chief of Police, Assistant Chief, (5) Commanders, (13) Sergeants, (95) Officers/Detectives, (16) Non-Commissioned staff, a Crime Analyst, and (3) Administrative Assistants.

POSITION DETAILS
The employee performs a variety of semi-routine clerical/technical work in support of the Police Department. Work requires a high degree of confidentiality and interpersonal sensitivity.
This is a Non-Commissioned position represented by our IAM Union and their current Collective Bargaiing Agreement (CBA) is effective 1/1/22 – 12/31/2024.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school, or equivalent; and two years of related work experience. Experience in a law enforcement agency preferred. Additional related education may substitute for up to one year of the required work experience on a month for month basis.
Must be able to pass an extensive police background investigation, including criminal history check, credit history check, polygraph and psychological evaluation. Must be able to pass the Level 1 State ACCESS course within 6 months of employment.
Must be able to work rotating shifts to support a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week operation.
All applicants for examination for this class must be citizens of the United States, or lawful permanent residents, and be able to read and write the English language.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
