JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Safety Administrator
Chicago Police Department
Number of Positions: 1
The Safety Administrator for the Chicago Police Department will be working within the Risk Management Unit; this position will lead the development of a full-scale employee safety program. This position will liaise with City of Chicago partners to ensure facilities and equipment employees meet industry standards. The Safety Administrator will also perform root cause analyses to Identify trending risks impacting employee safety and lead teams to implement mitigation strategies. This position will require travel throughout the City of Chicago to inspect or visit police facilities.

SHIFT/HOURS: M-F 8:30-4:30 PM
THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE
Education, Training, and Experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene or a directly related field, plus five years of work experience in safety management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.
Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications

This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview will be selected.
NOTE: Candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen and other pre-employment procedures as determined by the Chicago Police Department.
Residency Requirement: All employees of the City of Chicago must be actual residents of the City as outlined in 2-152-050 of the City of Chicago Municipal Code. Proof of residency will be required.
