Job Description Summary |
Perform skilled work involving the maintenance and repair of airport facilities. |
Essential Job Functions |
•Maintain airfield compliance with
FAA part 139: repair lights on taxiway and runways, repair cracks on surfaces, repaint markings, and trim grass around lights and signs. •Maintain airport properties: mow all lawns and fields, trim trees, and spray unwanted weeds and grasses to conform to the wildlife hazard management plan. •Remove snow/ice from all sidewalks, driveways, taxiways, and runways. •Comply with all
TSA security regulations in the terminal and on the airfield. |
Ancillary Job Functions |
•Build, repair, or replace doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and floors. Perform locksmithing duties as needed. •Perform electrical and plumbing work: install or replace fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring; and repair faucets, commodes, water heaters, and valves. •Perform heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work; repair and install heating and air conditioning units. •Perform preventative maintenance on buildings, appliances, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and airport vehicles. •Maintain records and logs as needed. •Perform other related duties as assigned. |
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered |
•High school diploma or equivalent required. •Minimum of one-year relevant experience. •Must possess and maintain a valid class B
CDL with airbrake endorsement. •Must successfully pass an annual
TSA background check. |

•Considerable knowledge of practices, tools, and equipment associated with one or more trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, or
HVAC •Considerable knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in facilities and grounds maintenance activities, including safe operating procedures. •Considerable knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to maintenance and repair work. •Ability to follow oral and written instructions. •Ability to operate trucks, tractors, spreaders, snow plows, lawnmowers, plow trucks, forklifts, backhoes, blower trucks, and sweepers. •Ability to deal courteously and authoritatively with the public. •Ability to work cooperatively with others. •Ability to work on-call and respond within 30 minutes at all hours of the day/night. |

•May be required to work in confined spaces, hazardous traffic conditions, or high/dangerous places. •May be exposed to wet/humid conditions, inclement outdoor weather, vibration, airborne particles/fumes, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, loud noise levels, or potentially hazardous or cancer-causing agents/chemicals. |
