The Warehouse Supervisor oversees, monitors, and supervises the warehousing activities for the City and its departments. Ensures the appropriate receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and transfer of items, materials, and equipment.
Essential Functions
1 Oversees, supervises, and manages the warehousing and storeroom operations for the City and its departments; oversees the receipt, storage, inventory, and general management of all supplies and equipment procured for each department.
2 Supervises, advises, and manages staff providing personnel support for conflict resolution and general payroll activities; performs monthly audits, supports employee timesheet updates, and monitors cash flow throughout the department.
3 Implements plans, schedules, and assignments; determines objectives needing emphasis; recommends or adjusts work priorities, project schedules, resources, and work plans as required; ensures staff is trained for handling hazardous or flammable materials.
4 Gives advice, counsel, instruction, and identifies routine training needs for warehousing and related staff; provides knowledge and expertise on inventory management, purchase accounting, and remaining compliant with storage and accounting practices; ensures appropriate internal controls are in place.
5 Prepares monthly reports for supplies, fleet parts, and other equipment required by various departments; uses and applies various software systems to ensure correct inventory management and tracking; removes obsolete items from stock, counts stock, and maintains daily control over inventory.
6 Reviews and approves delivery orders, master agreements, contracts and requisitions for goods and services, and other financial expenditures; maintains and monitors outstanding encumbrances and contracts; reports all purchasing and warehousing activities to the City Controller and other managerial staff.
7 Provides vendor support for assigned departments and ensures all invoices and billings are received, filled, and recorded; assists with the review of bids and inspects samples for specifications; completes and tracks all bids for uniformity and accuracy; ensures all price agreements are adequate for the purchasing needs of the unit.
8 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of experience in warehouse management, inventory control systems, budget preparation/review/analysis, financial management, or procurement of supplies and equipment.
AND
One (1) year lead work and/or supervisory responsibilities.
LICENSE:
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
PREFERENCE:
MS Office or similar software skills

2 Knowledge of warehousing, storeroom, and general inventory practices.
3 Knowledge of the City’s payroll, accounting, or purchasing procedures
4 Ability to use office machines including, copier, fax machine.
5 Ability to maintain records, journals, and files.
6 Ability to write, clear and accurate reports.
7 Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and other city employees.
8 Ability to handle difficult and unusual situations.
9 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
10 Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.
Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed. A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.
