Assistant Comptroller/Chief Accountant
ENTRY-LEVEL SALARY: $79,446.73 annually

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field including a minimum of two basic and two intermediate or advanced accounting courses and four years of progressively more responsible experience in professional accounting or related field.
OR
- Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Should be able to obtain the Tennessee Certified Municipal Finance Officer certification within 18 months of employment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in the preparation of year-end audited financial reports working closely with external auditors
Assists in preparing financial statements and budgets
Leading Financial Analysts on various financial projects
Overseeing and processing transactions for several of the larger and more complex departments of the City (examples might be Police, Transit, and others)
Serving as the team lead in reviewing accounting transactions made by financial analysts regarding their respective departments.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Prepares various reports such as monthly closings, quarterly reports, sections of the annual audit, etc.
Reconciles periodic computerized reports for accuracy and completeness and revenue and expenditure reports.
Performs related work and other special projects as required.

Pay: $79,446.73 – $127,114.78 per year
