Work includes planning, organizing and directing the activities of a division, determining staffing and equipment needs and managing resources and budget requests, reviewing and approving purchases, assisting with departmental strategic planning and development of policies, coordinating activities with other divisions and outside agencies, representing the Chief of Police in meetings, evaluating and reviewing citizen complaints and resolutions, operating a law enforcement vehicle, and may serve as Chief of Police in the incumbent’s absence.
