The City of Sanford is currently accepting applications for a full time, 40 hours per week, Administrative Assistant position in the Codes Department. Hours of work will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
This is a responsible and varied secretarial, administrative, and clerical position requiring knowledge of office practices and procedures including maintaining departmental records and compiling reports. This position requires extensive customer service and the ability to deal courteously with the public. The position also requires the ability to accurately work with figures, payroll processing, accounts payable processing, as well as a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Knowledge or experience with Municity is highly desirable.
Graduation from a high school is required. Graduate of a two year post-secondary secretarial or business school is highly desirable. Considerable experience in secretarial work of a progressively responsible nature involving contact with the public required. Experience in keeping and recording of financial transactions is highly desirable. Customer service and cash handling experience required. Previous municipal office experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and training is considered in lieu of the above.
