Provides all HR activities such as organization growth, succession planning, training and management development, employee relations management, performance management and HR initiatives. Provides technical assistance and manages daily personnel policies, programs, and plans.
Develops a relationship with internal contacts and acts as primary contact for discipline, legal, and policy judgements. May provide informal mentoring to entry-level employees and other peers within the management team. Will also have external relationships with legal representatives, clients, job applicants, vendors.
Absolute integrity and confidentiality is expected and required. Must be proficient in public speaking and leading presentations. Proficient knowledge of employment law and required filings a plus.
Expected travel requirements estimated to be up to 5% travel. City currently has two (2) depot locations in Cleveland and Livonia, Michigan that may from time to time require travel to those locations on an as needed basis.
