Coatings/Adhesives Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Coatings / Adhesives Operations Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. This will include facility management, budget execution, product quality, safety oversight, and ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Organizes and oversees the production work schedules.
• Leads safety initiatives for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Oversees and participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of manufacturing employees.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
• Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
• Provides additional production and safety training, as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
• Reviews/Prioritizes Open Sales Orders
• Develops production schedule for 24/7 operation to meet Sales requirements
• Leads production group in achieving safety goals and objectives
• Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
• Coordinates with other support departments to ensure successful production operations.
• Determines labor needs to meet production goals.
• Assists with, or prepares and updates, organizations operations manual and policies.
• Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
• Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
• Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
• Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
• Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
• Manages/develops supervisors assigned to production area.
• Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
• Maintains target inventory levels for raw materials, finished products, containers, and operating supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, Master’s degree preferred.
• At least ten years of experience in industrial management required; Chemical processing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Must be able to walk to and around the manufacturing areas. Must be able to climb steps.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and squat.
