College of Biblical Studies-Houston Hiring for Assistant Director of Student Accounts at Houston, TX Full Time

Position Description:

The Assistant Director of Student Accounts is responsible for managing student billing and
receivables, ensuring accurate financial statement reporting and proper reconciling with the student information system; and advising
students with respect to managing their student accounts balances. Serves as the primary customer service representative to students related
to their student accounts (charges and payments, payment plans, book vouchers, etc.). The position will also provide technical advice in the
application of compliance and policies & procedures.

Major/Essential Functions

• Receive and record
  student payments.
• Review student accounts and make collection determinations.
• Assist in monitoring financial aid
  funds.
• Maintain daily transaction reports and prepare month-end closings.
• Post tuition, books, supplies, and payments to
  student accounts.
• Adjust charges and payments to student accounts.
• Ensures the integrity, quality, and accuracy of
  financial and billing data in student information system. 
• Ensures compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy
  Acts (FERPA) as it relates to the assigned areas of responsibility.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Promotes and contributes to the enhancement of the College’s high performing faith based learner-centric environment
• Fosters a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, innovation and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Completes Return to Title IV (R2T4) calculations to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
• Works in day-to-day operation
  of the front office including but not limited to answering front-line office communications (e-mails/phone calls/walk-in traffic),
  scheduling appointments, supervising student workers
• Provides financial counseling to prospective and returning students and guides
  them to institutional, state and federal resources
• Enters and collects data into College’s SIS and runs financial reports out
  of the College’s SIS
• Follows up with students missing institutional, federal and state documents needed in order to process
  financial aid and/or billing
• Reviews institutional billing reports to determine what actions need to be taken by the staff to
  finalize learners’ financial aid and billing
• Assists in coordinating special billing arrangements and identifying which
  students require special billing accommodations
• Assists with monthly reconciling of various federal and state financial aid
  programs
• Collaborates with CFO to administer outside scholarships
• Assists with the collections process by communicating
  with students regarding bad debt.
• Performs related duties as required. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution of higher
  education. A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in a Bursar or Student Accounts setting is required.
• A minimum of
  two (2) years in a supervisory capacity is also required. Experience with Cash Management/Student Billing or Accounting related field
  preferred. Customer Service and Operational Management are essential to this position.
• Is a committed Christian, active in a local
  church.
• Agrees with the core doctrinal position (items 1-8) of the college.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At
  least three years experience in progressive management of student accounts operations at private, faith-based institution.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (speak, read and write).
• Experience with SIS systems.

• Able to perform business math computations and maintain accurate financial records.
