As the Sr. HR Generalist, you will apply your advanced knowledge of HR to assist Columbia Sportswear’s employees and leaders. You will partner with managers and employees to guide and advise on polices such as, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. This role will be an important partner for staffing, on-boarding programs, policy explanation and training for managers. We encourage you to share creative solutions to support our efforts in relentless improvement related to internal HR programs, data gathering and analysis, manager coaching and training, and employee training and engagement.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Day-to-day quarterback to execute on escalated employee issues, generalist will provide guidance, explain complexities in global environments
Assisting middle managers and employees with development counseling
Through hands on support with employees and managers identifies trends within business and employee base on areas of improvement, training, etc.
Manages policy and practice tools and documents related to employee policies and procedures
Manages updates and reviews of Employee Handbook and ensures all information is up to date and pertinent
Aids Centers of Excellence regarding HR compliance to ensure all functions and appropriate parties are reviewing policies, legislation, etc.
Manages Investigations; performs initial intake, consults with Talent Partners where escalation and recommendations lead to a performance action
Provide management training on HR policies and procedures in a group or individual setting.
Continually enhance knowledge of state and federal regulations and current trends/practices pertaining to Human Resources. Provide expertise and ensure company practices comply with regulations. Attend training and educational courses to enhance knowledge of all HR areas.
YOU ARE

A coach and offer skill development suggestions including employee coaching, manager consultations
Strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Strong individual contributor with a proven track record of working independently and using sound judgment in addressing HR issues.
YOU HAVE
5-8 years demonstrated Human Resources experience as a generalist or specialist.
Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Human Resources, Communications or Social Sciences, or related field
Ability executes operationally with excellence. Beginning to develop specific strategy to manage a short-term goal business unit (annual goal).
Project management and organizational skills and the ability to translate complex projects into straightforward communications.
Possess an advanced level of knowledge related to OFLA/FMLA and legal employment practices and Federal/State labor laws.
