The responsibility of the Logistics Coordinator is to coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly activities to support field operations that is consistent with GOM Shelf/Commodore Offshore Operating philosophy and goals. The Logistics Coordinator must also be a conduit for feedback to the Production Operations, Tech Services and Construction Group, and Field Foreman with respect to performance of third-party personnel concerning their execution of work and ability to do so in conformance with GOM Shelf/Commodore expectations. The Logistics Coordinator must have a strong presence in the daily transportation needs for all operations for GOM Shelf/Commodore.
Planning & Cost Tracking
·Assist with logistics coordination to optimize cost
·Facilitate daily, weekly, and long term planning with All Operations Groups
·Debrief on the day’s work with GOM Shelf/Commodore Staff
·Review and optimize transportation schedules
·Assist Production Manager & Production Superintendents with budget forecasting
·Monitor 3rd party billing rates for services, RFQ (Request for Quote) as needed for transportation services provided
·Audit transportation providers cost semi annually
Regulatory compliance monitoring
·Monitor regulatory compliance for respective transportation (BSEE, DOT, DOI, State Regulations, etc)
·Validate that safety system procedures of transportation providers are followed and maintained
·Help to identify transportation trends
·Manage action items to completion with accountable personnel
·Monitor SEMS related compliance through quarterly spot checks in GOM Shelf SEMS PORTAL
Incidents
·Assist in compiling incident investigation information at the direction of the GOM Shelf/Commodore management staff
·The Logistics Coordinator will assist to verify that action items related to incidents, or safety alerts are adhered to
Planning
·Coordinate field activities and transportation needs to ensure efficient operations by tracking forecasted activities on a daily, 7-day, and monthly planner for construction, tech services, drilling and production operations
·Alert GOM Shelf/Commodore management of situations where there is a lack of coverage regarding third party transportation providers
Production Optimization
·Provide feedback to GOM Shelf/Commodore management regarding operational issues with schedules and transportation providers
·Visit with offshore personnel frequently to understand what can be done to make transportation safer and more efficient
·Spot check transportation providers to ensure operations are being conducted safely, appropriately, and timely
·Provide feedback to appropriate personnel before problems escalate
Qualifications:
· High School or GED required
· Associate degree or equivalent preferred
· 5 years experience in logistics/ transportation coordinator required
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and safe work practices
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, volume, proportions and discounts
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in the form of written, oral, or diagram form
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and custom-built company software
· Ability to safely transfer via swing to and from platform to motor vessel
· Ability to safely transfer via personnel basket to and from platform to motor vessel
· Willing to travel up to 25% including periodic meetings in The Woodlands, Texas office.
