PennDOT is currently hiring a Clerk Typist 2 for the Maintenance Unit in the Engineering District 3-0 Office located in Montoursville, Lycoming County. This is a permanent full-time position with excellent benefits, paid holidays, and opportunity for advancement.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Responsible for maintaining the schedule for the manager, as well as staff. Responsible for answering the telephone and directing calls to the appropriate staff member. Maintains the calendar for direct supervisor and other identified managers. Schedules meetings and reserves conference rooms. Prepares agendas for meetings and transcribe dictation from meetings as required.
Answers incoming customer calls promptly and courteously, collects appropriate information and either handles the request or forwards it to the proper person. Record concerns within Customer Care Center (CCC) system and monitors timely and accurate response. Maintains the CCC concerns for the appropriate units, notifies the responsible responding party, forwards a copy of the concerns to appropriate staff, and maintains a tickle file to monitor response. Informs supervisor weekly of concerns due for upcoming week.
Screens telephone calls and visitors, and transfers calls or refers visitors to the appropriate person for the information desired. Collect, sort, and distribute unit mail and maintain tickle and general filing. Ensures mail is processed in the most efficient manner.
Types a variety of correspondence, reports, agendas, itineraries, transactions, agreements, inter-departmental correspondence and other materials accurately. Meet typing deadlines established by the unit supervisors and managers.
Proofreads varying types of materials to ensure that information is grammatically correct, complete, consistent, and adheres to agency rules and regulations.

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday
8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Lunch break: 30 minutes
Starting pay for new employees is $32,176 annually/$16.45 hourly.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; OR
Completion of high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; OR
Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
