The Pennsylvania Insurance Department has an immediate need to hire a Communications Director to oversee professional public relations work in the Department’s Communications Office. Apply today!
You will serve as the Communications Director, managing a team of two professionals, and report directly to the Insurance Commissioner. In this capacity, you will help to set the tone for the Department’s messaging, outreach, and values. You will be responsible for proactively coordinating and managing external, and some internal, communications for the department, including public information, media relations, digital communications, promotional/marketing and advertising, design functions, website, social media, speech writing, program publications, and outreach.
You will serve as a principal advisor to the Commissioner on communications and public relations implications, while maintaining a direct and proactive line of communication between the department and the Governor’s Communications Office. This position is a unique opportunity to be a critical part of a regulatory team of a Commonwealth agency that seeks to promote a vibrant insurance marketplace to serve and aggressively protect Pennsylvania’s insurance consumers.
