The Patient Account Representative/Customer Service/Pre-Registration position is responsible for completing pre-registration for upcoming surgeries, as well as customer service inquiries. This role will include updating the system to reflect financial responsibility and communicate patient high deductible/co-pay/estimated out-of-pocket prior to service, setting up payment plans, processing payments along with other assigned tasks. The Patient Account Representative is customer/patient focused with a strong emphasis on patientxe2x80x99s first. The position is on a call center and does require phone work 8 hrs/day. It could also include cross training on benefits and authorizations as well. This position will allow you to work from home upon hire.
Your exceptional skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to extract information from medical records and reports to support claim appeals
- Ability to multi-task, have attention to detail, strong organization skills, and a team player
- Written communication skills necessary for appropriate and accurate documentation
- Demonstrates an ability to use good judgment for maintaining confidentiality
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Intranet and Internet usage, Excel, Word, email, and web based applications
Your exceptional qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Two (2) years or more experience in healthcare billing
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
