Maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
JOB-RELATED DUTIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These duties are essential and specific to the successful implementation of this position.
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Confidentiality, Can be relied upon to maintain customer and agency confidentiality.
Creativity and innovation, proposes creative ideas and seeks out better methods.
Reliability in reporting, submits all internal and external reports in a timely and correct manner as required by funding agencies and/ or CHI. Information is accurate.
Travel: Must be able to travel during work hours to various CHI locations as needed (2-5%).
Reporting: EE0-1 reporting, Bi-annual audit reports, and ATS.
Must be able to present to management level staff.
Shift: Monday through Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: $70,000
ENTRY LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Preferred
Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience with a concentration in in recruitment and retention strategies
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Computer Skills: Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, HRIS systems, PowerPoint, Excel, and Sharepoint. Proficiency in Excel required.
Math Skills: Must be excellent.
Physical Performance: None
Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
Other Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines. Knowledge of local/state/federal compliance laws.
