Confidential Hiring for Automotive Diagnostic Technician – No Significant Wrenching Required Job at Salt Lake City, UT Full Time

• Best Suited for retired master technician with exceptional automotive diagnostic skills, who cannot or no longer wishes to turn wrenches
• Pay $18 to $25 per hour depending on experience. Higher pay is available if you also conduct repairs. This is a guaranteed pay position, not flat rate. Full or Part Time

We are a well established automotive repair and maintenance facility with multiple locations. We are seeking an automotive diagnostic technician with superior diagnostic skills. This position is not expected to perform any heavy work, and no significant repair work, unless you choose to do so. Your diagnostic abilities are the most important skill we are seeking. Our technicians will repair vehicles you diagnose.

Though we specialize in imports, the right candidate will be able to diagnose any issues on any vehicle make or model completely, adapt to changing schedules and circumstances, be reliable, and still find joy in solving difficult and complex problems. The ability and desire to teach and pass on knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all forms of vehicle diagnostics, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, structural, and driveability.

• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical individuals that may include employees and customers..

• Continuously learns new technical information and techniques and use experience gained to stay abreast of changing automotive technology.

• Communicates with management on any issues that occur.

• Maintains organized, neat, and safe bays.

• Conduct complete vehicle inspections to determine if additional safety or service work is required.

• Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean.

• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing disposal of hazardous wastes.

• Road-test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
