We’re a high-volume, catering-style cloud kitchen that provides healthy, high-quality meal prep. To help us expand throughout the West Coast, we’re growing our East Bay culinary team with experienced chefs who can handle high-volume catering-style production while working with the speed, urgency, and finesse of a high-end restaurant chef.

About You:

• Reliable: you show up to work on time properly dressed and equipped and do all the tasks assigned to you at or above company standards

• Experienced: you have at least 3 years of cooking experience, ideally in a high-volume catering or hotel kitchen

• Disciplined: you take pride in your work and do your best even when no one’s watching

• Ambitious: you enjoy learning new ingredients, recipes, and cooking techniques

• Fast: you’re highly motivated and skilled and work rapidly in the kitchen without compromising quality

Responsibilities:

• Accurately cook protein, starch, veggie, sauce, snack, and pastry recipes at an expert level

• Make sure everything you cook is perfectly cooked: nothing is overcooked or undercooked; nothing is overseasoned or underseasoned; recipes visually look, taste, smell, and feel exactly as designed

• You taste test and correct as needed every batch of food you prepare to ensure nothing goes out unless it meets our very high standards; if needed, you recommend recipe corrections

• Follow protocol and recipes precisely to ensure accurate recipes, accurate yield, and full compliance with company and government food safety standards

• Communicate constantly with teammates across the business to ensure production runs smoothly and on time

• Troubleshoot with the team when unexpected issues arise

• Keep your work station, the kitchen, refrigeration, freezer, and all kitchen storage areas and equipment clean at all times; you clean as you go constantly

Key Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in high-volume production and cookery with an amazing track record; ideally, 3+ years of experience in catering, hotels, casinos or similar settings

• High skill level in a wide variety of cooking techniques

• Experience cooking with robot coupe, immersion blender, cook and hold ovens, CVAP, combi ovens, and tilt skillets

• Understand a customer-first and service-oriented approach to retaining customers for life

• Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations

• Able to lift at least 40 pounds

• Able to frequently bend at the wrists, elbows, neck, waist, and knees while carrying weight

• Able to stand for long periods of up to 10 hours

• Valid Food Handler’s Management Certificate

• Able to work at our kitchen in the East Bay

Salary Range:

$25-30/hour, depending on experience
