ACCOUNTING / HR MANAGER
The Accounting/HR Manager will perform all accounting functions and human resources activities for 609 Consulting. This is a fulltime role that requires skills in standard accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, asset management, data entry, and day-to-day bookkeeping. In addition, the position includes other office management duties as assigned by management.

Supervision Exercised:

• Performs all accounting and human resource activities, as well as other office management duties on a day-to- day basis.

Education/Work Experience:
(Minimum required)

• Graduate of accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business or a closely related field; and
• Five years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification in Public Accounting (CPA) is preferred, but not necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of standard office equipment and accounting software.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to formulate and implement standard accounting methods, system procedures, forms, financial reports and records.
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with department managers.
• A high degree of integrity and good professional judgment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• General knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.

Attendance:

• Office hours are typically 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. Holiday, personal, and sick days are as instructed in the Employee Personnel Policy Manual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(include the following: other duties may be assigned)

• Manage all facets of the accounting and finance management system, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations
• Review, analyze, recommend improvements, and assist with the accounting and payroll practices and implementation of operational changes to improve accuracy, efficiency, internal control, timeliness and customer relations
• Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays
• Familiarize yourself and keep current with taxation, benefits and other factors
• Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts
• Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payment
• Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications
• Prepare reports for payroll monthly, quarterly, yearly
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall Company policies
• Coordinate HR issues with management
• Enter employment data into QuickBooks and track paid time off
• Employee benefits enrollment and management
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards and client specific safety requirements (including OSHA, MSHA)
• Evaluate, assess and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients
• Oversee drug and alcohol testing policy
• Familiarize yourself with insurance requirements, including general liability, professional and worker’s compensation liability coverage
• Provide outside accounting firm with needed accounting information for income tax filing
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by management

Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
