The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for assisting all district offices in the Southeast region in meeting their hiring goals, while ensuring the company attracts, hires and retains the best employees.
This is primarily a remote position but will require extensive travel throughout the Southeast region, sometimes with short notice. Weekend and evening work also required as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Remain up to date on current and future hiring needs throughout the company and collaborate with district offices to develop recruitment goals and objectives
· Attract applicants by placing job advertisements (internal and external), contacting recruiters, and using newsgroups and job sites
· Assist district offices in reviewing resumes/applications and evaluating candidates through phone, online or in-person screenings
· Stay abreast of recruiting trends and best practices; use creativity to come up with new ways to recruit
· Source passive candidates using a variety of search methods
· Build recruiting resources by researching and contacting career centers, community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, internet sites, etc.
· Regularly enroll and participate in job fairs and recruiting sessions
· Ensure all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations, enforce regulations with managers, recommend new procedures, and conduct training
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
· 2 years of recruiting experience preferred
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Comfortable making decisions independently
· Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems is required
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
· Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
· Understanding of employment laws and regulations
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in accordance with applicable state and local laws.
