Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for ongoing talent acquisition, onboarding, employment processing, communication, engagement, and reporting activities.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Stay abreast of changes in law, regulations, policies, and programs relevant to employment practices to effectively perform the following:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
· Manage full lifecycle recruitment activities for assigned openings, including requirements gathering, requisition processing, interview team identification, sourcing and advertising, engaging talent, working with agencies/partners, screening, scheduling interviews and travel, wrap-up/feedback meetings with managers, reference checking, offer letter preparation and communication, offer negotiation, coordination of background/drug screening, and onboarding.
· Implement proactive recruitment strategies across a wide array of sources to attract a diverse and qualified pool of candidates.
· Ensure interview teams have the tools, training, and guidance to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, best practice interviewing and selection, and a bias-free process. This includes staying current and educating managers on market hiring trends, rates, risks, demographics, etc.
· Maintain ownership of the candidate experience ensuring high quality interactions at all stages of candidacy.
· Monitor sourcing effectiveness via metrics (time-to hire, time-to-productivity, cost per hire, etc.) and make recommendations for optimization.
· Shepherd new employees through onboarding procedures while ensuring adherence to internal and government requirements.
Employment Processing & Communication
· Process changes in employment status (employee data, promotions, transfers, retirements, terminations, etc.)
· Provide communication-related support to projects within HR and operations including, but not limited to, general site communications, surveys, recognition, and engagement across all available communication channels.
Engagement & Reporting
· Contribute to and support site recognition programs.
· Event planning (company picnics, holiday parties, etc.)
· Compile data to support weekly, monthly, and quarterly site reporting requirements and other HR/AAP/EEO-1 related reports as required.
Additional Responsibilities
· Supplement and back-up HRBP when necessary.
· Support benefits open enrollment activities.
· Coordinate and conduct visual acuity testing.
· Complete special projects and other duties as needed.
Travel Requirements:
· Approximately 20% comprised of local travel during workday.
· Regional overnight trips as required to support talent acquisition efforts.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Experience in internet recruitment, cold-calling, networking, and developing candidate pipelines through proactive measures.
· Knowledge of Federal and State employment law and practices.
· Pragmatic problem-solving ability.
· Excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and writing abilities, including presentation of information to various sized groups using a variety of communication channels (e.g., written, verbal, virtual, in-person).
· Ability to exercise effective judgment and sensitivity to changing needs and business situations.
· Excellent computer and technology skills required, specifically with HRIS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and applicant tracking systems for data extraction, analysis, reporting, and presentation.
· High degree of initiative, ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and meet deadlines.
· Requires demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust, credibility, and collaboration in alignment with company values.
Work Environment:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, reach, or feel; talk and hear.
· Works in an office and factory environment, with normal level of noise and controllable changes of temperature.
· The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
· The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities
· Embraces, supports, and aligns with corporate social responsibility policies while complying with applicable environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, procedures, and corporate standards.
· Notifies conditions, near misses, accidents and incidents including environmental, that occurred in site’s premises to prevent or eliminate any risk or exposure.
· Communicates any process changes that may impact Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability aspects to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations including protection of people and the environment.
· Promotes a safe and environmentally friendly workplace
Experience:
· Minimum 3 years’ related experience in Human Resources, preferably progressive experience in either a generalist or specific specialty of HR.
· Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality and discretion with highly sensitive topics and personal information.
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· PHR or SHRM certification is desired.
· Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
