Cornell University, a nationally ranked Ivy League institution, is looking for an Assistant for U.S. Regional Engagement Programs to join the Alumni Affairs & Development division in Ithaca, NY.
The mission of U.S. Regional Alumni Engagement is to expand the number of alumni participating in all Cornell programs, and in particular, to support the work of the Cornell regional clubs and associations in the United States and Canada. U.S. Regional Engagement also provides staff support and leadership to the Cornell Regional Club Peer Advisor Committee. The goal of the regional engagement team and volunteer organizations is to:
The Assistant for U.S. Regional Alumni Engagement Programs provides administrative support and organizational skills in the daily operation of the program. In addition, this position will work with the entire U.S. Regional Engagement team, including staff in the Northeast Corridor office and staff working with clubs and associations on the West Coast. The successful candidate must be exceedingly well organized, possess excellent customer-service skills, and demonstrate expert Microsoft Office skills, with a special focus on Excel reporting. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, positive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is important to this role. Superior communication skills and attention to detail are also important. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with an interest in Cornell University and a commitment to the university’s alumni affairs and fundraising missions.
This position will travel to events (once or twice a year) and support evening teleconferencing/videoconferencing meetings when needed (rarely and no more than once a week).
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant for U.S. Regional Alumni Engagement performs this position full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours, with somewhat flexible start and end times. You may also perform this position through a hybrid model of up to 2 days remote, with 3 days on campus. And, if you prefer to be in office all week, we invite you to do that! We also want to give you flexibility that matches your work style and needs. Both start times and hybrid format will be mutually determined between you and your supervisor, and modifiable at the discretion of office and business needs.
