CoSA VFX has a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic HR professional to take on a one-year contract for the role of Human Resources Generalist supporting the US and Canadian teams. This will be a remote role out of our BC office. We don’t require you to go into the office but we do ensure you are able to if needed. This role reports to the Global Director of HR.
CoSA VFX is looking for someone who is proactive, passionate about providing high levels of the organization and demonstrated the ability to understand when to act, when to offer advice, and when to seek advice to help support the HR function at CoSA. This role’s primary focus will be supporting the implementation of the new HRIS system, improving our processes and any additional projects assigned by the Global Director of HR.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and support the administration of all HR-related responsibilities, including but not limited to: employee lifecycle, benefits, learning and development programs, employee relations, compliance, and terminations.
Lead the HR portion of our implementation to a new HRIS ensuring the data is complete, accurate, and that the system is functional for HR needs.
Lead and own HR projects as assigned.
Support immigration efforts by managing applications and paperwork, liaising with immigration consultants, following up with hiring managers and the recruitment team to keep them up to date on the status/options/outcomes, and ensuring that the candidate/new hire is supported throughout the process.
Lead the reporting and renewals of CoSA’s LMBP agreement
Ensure the timely and accurate data entry of information into the HRIS, maintain records on changes, and communicate those changes to the necessary stakeholders.
Regularly audit data of HRIS and benefits to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
Provides assistance, coaching, and information to employees on a variety of human resources subjects and promotes good employee/studio relationships, able to interact effectively with all levels of the studio team.
Develop Human Resources strategies aligned with organizational direction/objectives and values.
Conduct workplace investigations where required
Maintain and provide guidance on the interpretation and application of the CoSA policies and procedures, keeping them up to date and known by the team.
Able to recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
Provide coaching and support to leadership on a variety of employee relations topics including difficult conversations, corrective measures, performance, and growth planning.
Provide analytics and reporting to the global Director of HR and other leaders in support of business reporting, planning, and strategic goals.
Work with the leadership team to identify training needs, maintain training records and ensure training is aligned with professional development goals.
Proactively provides solutions and strategies around improvement to HR processes and procedures.
Incorporate team-building activities into work schedules to improve employee morale and team bonding
Stay up-to-date with current and changes in HR laws and ethics, ensure compliance with all HR-related legal requirements and government regulations
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources is preferred but not required
3+ years experience as a Human Resources Generalist
Demonstrated knowledge of legal and government regulations affecting Human Resources in Canada and the US. Knowledge/Experience with other country legislations would be a plus.
HR Professional certifications are a plus.
Ability to perform tasks independently and accurately with minimal supervision, while seeking input from management whenever appropriate.
Strong verbal and communication skills Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
ADP and/or UKG experience preferred but not required
Experience in an entertainment environment is preferred, but not required
