Point Sebago Resort

Primarily responsible for managerial and financial accounting for the Point Sebago resort operations. Provides general accounting support for the General Manager which includes margin analysis, ad hoc reporting, various account reconciliations, inventory costing and tracking, budget to actual analysis, managerial financial reporting, evaluating efficiency improvement opportunities, and other day to day accounting responsibilities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supports General Manager and other department managers with necessary managerial financial reporting, margin analysis, budget to actual tracking by department and other ad-hoc reporting as necessary.
• Works closely with Corporate accounting team to accomplish necessary daily, weekly and monthly accounting requirements, including account reconciliations, journal entry posting, and other month-end close procedures
• Responsible for setting up inventory control procedures, inventory costing and periodic inventory counts.
• Responsible for monitoring capital expenditures, budget tracking and period reporting.
• Responsible for evaluating margin improvement opportunities for various lines of business throughout the resort.
• Responsible for driving the annual budgeting process and working closely with department heads to develop the annual budget.
• Prepares journal entries for various account activity as required.
• Assists in creating and maintaining current department procedure documentation.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extremely high attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, establish priorities to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional organization and tracking skills.
• MS Office advanced computer skills. Excel intermediate to advanced level.
• Advanced communication skills (both verbally and written), and the ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff.
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Associates Degree with equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of full-cycle accounting/cost accounting experience, preferably in the property management or hospitality industry.

• Knowledge of inventory management, capital expense tracking, general accounting and budgeting.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Physical Requirements:

• Job will be located onsite at the Point Sebago resort. Position is full-time, year-round and minimal travel may be required to Corporate headquarters as needed.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
