About this Position
These positions will be working in the COVID-19 Response Unit within Lane County Public Health. This section has been created in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 Vaccinators are responsible for administering the COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccinators should have experience drawing up vaccines and be familiar with vaccines and vaccination practices. This position may assist with other medical tasks such as post-vaccination observation or in the medical response area and assists with inventory management of clinic supplies when necessary.
Schedule will vary depending on current needs.
Wage: $23.45
About this Division
Lane County Health and Human Services Public Health division ensures protections critical to the health of all people in Lane County through surveillance, regulation, and response to infectious disease and injury risks. In collaboration with community organizations and partner agencies, Public Health promotes optimal health through policies, interventions, and population-health programs based on scientific evidence and emerging best practices, with a particular focus on ensuring all people in Lane County have opportunity and access to environments and systems that support their health.
Schedule: Hours vary – Minimum work availability of 3 days, 8 hours a day. Some Weekend availability is preferred.
This position allows to work a maximum of 520 hours per fiscal year, between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022.

Training & Experience:
* License where the scope of practice includes administering immunizations
• Bilingual Skills preferred
• Ability to exhibit a professional, positive attitude and work ethic;
• Excellent interpersonal skills required and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress;
• Critical thinking and sound judgment required;
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism and in compliance with federal HIPPA requirements;
Special Requirements:
This position is subject to a full criminal offender information record check. If fingerprinting is required, the fee is paid for by the successful candidate and the expense is non-reimbursable.
Offers of employment are contingent upon consenting to and successfully passing a drug screening test; negative results are reimbursable.
Please note that as part of the screening process Lane County will verify license and certification status.
One of the essential functions of this position is to travel within Lane County (occasionally outside of Lane County) to completed scheduled meetings.

The Board of County Commissioners wants to help Lane County be the healthiest county in the state. Effective October 1, 2018, any tobacco use, including vaping devices, will not be allowed inside or on the grounds of properties owned or occupied by Lane County including: All outdoor areas, parking lots, County vehicles, and personal vehicles while on County property.
