CTEC is seeking an HR Manager. This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Reston, VA.
Position Summary
CTEC is seeking a can-do, customer service, and people-focused, HR/ Office Manager with strong interpersonal skills to fill a new position as the leader of our HR team in our Reston Headquarters office. The ideal candidate must be able to perform a wide array of project tasks independently, drive projects to completion, develop creative solutions, manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and handle variable workloads. Reporting to the CEO, the HR/Office Manager will lead the HR Team in supporting all aspects of the employment lifecycle to drive employee engagement including employee relations, recognition, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, compensation management, separation of employment, HRIS, employment law compliance and required compliance reporting. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and foster a collaborative team environment by acting as an inspirational team leader focused on individual, team and company success.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Serve as the HR/Office Manager in managing HR projects as well as participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
· Supervise the work of and mentor an HR Coordinator that will be reporting to the HR/Office Manager.
· Be responsible for all aspects of employee recognition and engagement; promote employee development and career advancement within the organization.
· Develop, execute, and support communication strategies for new and existing employee programs that support organizational change and enhance employee engagement.
· Assist in the development and execution of strategic communications plans for programs, activities, organizations, and events.
· Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements and efficiencies of the HR department.
· Ensures HR legal compliance as it relates to federal laws and state laws.
· Disability management to include, coordination of sick leave, Short-term Disability (STD), Long-term Disability (LTD), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
· Manages the Employee Relations process
· Ability to work with a variety of executives at multiple levels of the organization.
· Write, edit, and prepare employee messages and occasional executive messages and speeches, as well as contribute to internal company publications.
· Excellent analytical, oral/written communication and critical thinking skills and the ability to work well under pressure and short-turnaround situations.
· Be creative and resourceful.
· Ability to collaborate with executives and project managers across the organization.
· Ability to work with limited supervision.
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Office Management.
· Coordinates, tracks, and orders office equipment as necessary.
· Ensures office supplies are stocked.
· Sets-up board meeting conference room as appropriate.
· Coordinates with building management on service requests.
· Coordinates internal/external office moves.
· In coordination with the accounting team, ensures the maintenance of office leases and equipment.
· Responsible for building/office access keys (FOBs)
· Coordinates corporate events with leadership, as appropriate.
Qualifications and skills
· Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience as an HR Manager in a government contracting environment.
· Robust knowledge of McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA).
· HRIS to include, ADP Workforce, Deltek.
· Strong background in Health and Welfare plans.
· Strong background in Retirement plans to include non-discrimination testing requirements
