Curie Learning, LLC is an after-school program that focuses on enriching the education of students ages 5–18. The program is specifically designed to challenge students to meet their academic potential in mathematics, writing, reading comprehension, and vocabulary skills. The curriculum is loosely based on the Common Core and Virginia State Standards for the students’ upcoming grade level in school, with a strong focus on critical thinking and application of skills (word problems). The courses of this program include preparation for local specialized programs and local prestigious high schools (such as AOS, AET, and TJ) as well as SAT Prep, AP Prep, and Honors Course Prep for high school students. We also provide summer courses including supplementary math/science courses for high school-aged students, supplementary math/English courses for middle and elementary-aged students, and various English, writing, and science day camps.

*Classes will focus on essay writing instruction for early high school contexts, including college application essays.
*Classes will be held online using Zoom and Google Classroom.
*Instructor will have flexibility in shaping lesson plans; we will provide sample prompts, objectives, and learning outcomes, with the expectation that the instructor will design their own lessons and compose new writing prompts as necessary. Guidance will be provided.
*Instructor will assign, collect, and review two essays per month, to include one revision.
