Under the supervision of the Executive Director the Information Technology (IT) Director is responsible for all aspects of information technology. The Director develops, implements and evaluates technology services that enable and support Foundation work in a timely and cost effective manner. Technology services should support our core mission of acting as a gateway to the marginalized of society at our headquarters and our satellite sites. In partnership with IT staff, the IT Director manages existing technology as well as anticipating future IT needs and identifying proactive solutions to satisfy those needs. The IT Director is responsible for developing, implementing and updating long range IT plans, developing IT budgets, and maintaining a strong internal control environment for all IT activities.
What You Will Be Doing
“Oversee Network Administration (including backup, security management, user account management, email systems, VOIP, and all other entities that utilize network connections)
” Oversee implementation and maintenance of IT internal controls at organizational level.
” Support server, desktop, and software.
” Plan, implement and support network and digital infrastructure on an enterprise basis.
” Troubleshoot individual software, hardware and/or network issues. Develop and implement solutions to identified problems and determine courses of action for future support.
” Research new technologies and explore deployment options for new software and hardware platforms.
” Develops and implements long range plan for organizations IT needs.
” Develop and maintain disaster readiness procedures for IT.
” Coordinate with other work units to develop purchasing, maintenance and repair policies and procedures.
” Maintain IT department records and system configurations as well as transactions with vendors and consultants.
” Maintain all software and support licensing and implement appropriate schedule for review.
” Provide Health Information Technology support to the clinic work unit.
” Develop and maintain strategic relationships with other IT professionals for increased knowledge pooling.
” Serve on Foundation Leadership Council.
” Initiate and coordinate work of the Foundation wide IT Committee (Cousin IT)
” Develop and manage budgets for IT department and for IT infrastructure investments.
” Supervise IT Technician.
” Working as part of the Finance and IT team, knowing employees presence is an essential function for the team to be successful.
What You Need for this Position
“B.A. degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
” Experience with support and implementation of Electronic Health Records (EPIC) is mandatory.
” Demonstrated passion for distributing technology which can drive productivity and enhance work flow and client services.
” Technical Skills include:
” Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously according to agreed upon schedules and budgets.
” Ability to supervise others under direct authority.
” Ability to maintain confidentiality, to take initiative and to work with minimal supervision.
” Ability to communicate effectively with staff with varying degrees of technical expertise.
” Must be able to travel to facilities (within San Francisco).
” Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
