DataVerge Hiring for Network Cable Technician Job at Brooklyn, NY Full Time

Our Brooklyn datacenter is looking for a Network Cable Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities and Required Skills:

• Run, pull, terminate and splice copper cables, such as CAT5, SE, CAT6, low voltage cables, cabling for surveillance camera and potentially learn about fiber optic cabling

• Manage and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies

• Assemble and arrange material and equipment

• Review and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, particular needs, and instructions

• Mount telecom equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements

• Aid in arranging and mounting routers, switches, and other rack-mount equipment such as patch panels

• Install support structures, potentially including wall-mounted racks, j-hooks, and various other items that may be required to properly run cable and mount equipment

• Need to be experienced in the cabling system and be conversant with the installation of copper and potentially fiber optic cables

• Install closet hardware, including connecting blocks, fiber enclosures, racks, backboards, and patch panels

• Work on various aspects of the telecommunication industry when required, such as wiring practices, color code and terminations

• Maintain good relations with clients by listening to and then sorting out their issues or escalating as needed

• Excellent communication skills, and professional demeanor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
