Job Discription
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Conducts data quality checks including but not limited to the business rules and validation checks as defined for the DP17-1705 national evaluation; write programming language using SAS to produce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the evaluation, translation, refinement, and conversion of qualitative and quantitative variables and datasets from different data sources to allow for national evaluation of DP17-1705. He or she plans, constructs, and maintains relational databases for storage, manipulation, and retrieval from different network information systems, and supports the efforts of cross-functional teams to design and implement web-based data systems.
Collaborates with the CDC evaluators, statisticians, and National DPP team to document, create, and implement appropriate statistical and analytic methods to prepare and interpret statistical reports to facilitate technical assistance to division staff, program partners, external stakeholders, and organizations participating in the DP17-1705 to inform program performance and management.
Conducts analytic data management, statistical analyses, and produce statistical reports using programming languages and software information technology (IT) tools including, but not limited to, SAS, SQL, R, SUDAAN, Stata, Excel, Access, etc., to assess and improve program performance and management.
Develops methods and analytic data management tools to ensure the evaluation processes are scalable to meet increasing demand and provide viable options for technologically sophisticated and non-technologically sophisticated organizations to submit validated data to CDC.
Supports the 1705 database management and execution by providing consultation on the design and implementation of Information Technology (IT) solutions to meet current demand; to meet increasing demand; and to assess and improve program performance and management.
Develops appropriate data visualization methods using appropriate statistical software (SAS Visual Analytics, or Tableau) of displaying statistical information such as graphs, interactive/motion charts and a variety of GIS maps as well as tabulating, summarizing, interpreting and presenting data from relational databases, complex surveys, and other data sets and data systems and assures timely access and utilization of diabetes data systems; create user-friendly communications and dissemination products, and perform coordination activities across relevant functional teams and vendors to ensure the 1705 data system meets current demand; meets increasing demand; and to assess and improve program performance and management.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum four years of experience in the following areas:
