DC Department of Human Resources Hiring for HUMAN RESOURCES ASST (TYPING) at Utica-Rome Area Full Time

The incumbent of this position serves as a Human Resources Assistant (Typing) for the Department of Behavioral Health/Administrative Operations Administration. Responsible for performing assignments in support of studies conducted by Human Resources Specialists and management staff requiring gathering, verification, analysis, and preparation of a variety of data in narrative and statistical formats that use by management to report, plan and evaluate HR activities. Conducts new hires orientation sessions for new employees. Provides information, instructions, and answers to process and forms for health and life insurance, address changes, beneficiary forms, retirement applications, and tax exemptions. Processes a full range of human resources actions in Peoplesoft/ASMP system which includes accessions, promotions, separations, position and pay changes, and conversions. Provide office coverage while screening calls and visitors. Keeps the Human Resources Manager and Director, of Human Resources Division informed of all technical matters.

This position IS NOT in a collective bargaining unit.

Tour of Duty: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday

Qualifications Requirement

This position requires one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled

Work Experience

Three (3) or more years of experience performing a wide variety of Human Resources Assistant functions in support of human resources operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is performed in an office setting.
