We are looking for an HR assistant to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. The HR assistant duties involve a wide range of support activities inside our HR department, from coordinating meetings to maintaining our employee database to onboarding of new employees. An important part of your role will be to act as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. You’ll assist in creating policies, processes and documents.
The HR assistant qualifications and HR assistant skills we’re looking for include excellent organization ability, familiarity with HR software and strong communication skills. You should be able to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure. Following our training sessions, you’ll be able to assist HR Director in the whole recruitment lifecycle (e.g. onboarding new hires and candidate sourcing). Ultimately, you’ll ensure our HR department is organized and operates smoothly to attract, hire and retain our employees.
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant of Human Resources will perform administrative duties related to the operations of the human resource office.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Answers and directs departmental phone calls.
· Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
· Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Director
· Receives and distributes office mail.
· Schedules and organizes appointments; takes minutes during departmental meetings.
· Proofreads and types documents and correspondence produced by department.
· Coordinates with mangers on all new hires
· Set’s up hires dates and organizes training schedule for all new hires.
· Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
· Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
· Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
· May assist with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
· Prepares purchase orders for human resource office.
· Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
· Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
· Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
· Run’s monthly and annual reports for new hire expiring licenses
· Compile and update employee records (hard, Digital, and soft copies).
· Communicate with public services when necessary
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
· Basic knowledge of labor laws
· Excellent organizational skills

· Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
· Ability to operate general office equipment.
· Ability to type 60 words a minute.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Ability to maintain confidential information.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Administrative training required.
· Two years of administrative assistant experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
