The Junior DevOps Engineer is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements of automation jobs to support Delta Marketing Operations. The Engineer will be responsible for the successful deployment of integrated or stand-alone releases into production. This role is critical to ensuring the stability of the data infrastructure and automated jobs that support Marketing communications to Deltas customers

Responsibilities:
Manage the deployment of marketing automation jobs to production environments.

Maintain and enhance the SAS/UNIX/Python automation framework in collaboration with developers and IT.

Participate in deployment & configuration of the application as needed

Participate in daily stand ups and consult with team to refine, test, and debug programs to meet technical needs

Understands servers and databases and related architecture requirements and ensures those requirements can be achieved and maintained through high-quality deliverables.

Developing proof of concepts and proposing solutions to architecture and tech leads.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Hands on experience with SAS, Teradata, and Python

1 – 2 years Unix shell scripting experience

Experience in supporting application teams and troubleshooting in development, QA and Production environments

Proven problem-solving skills required

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Candidate must have attention to detail, and be methodical in carrying out responsibilities

The successful candidate must be a self-motivator and be able to perform work with little guidance or instructions. Multiple tasks may be assigned which will require managing/prioritizing.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) is preferred but not required

Knowledge or related experience in the airline industry

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems engineering field.
