The Logistics Manager ensures the safe, efficient, and effective storage and distribution of products. The Logistics Manager collaborates closely with product suppliers and clients to build strong and long-lasting relationships and negotiate pricing contracts.
This position is contingent upon successful contract award.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers
- Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
- Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments
- Strategic sourcing of logistics vendors; evaluate, qualify, and select vendors
- Source primary, secondary, and tertiary logistics partners to mitigate risk and benchmark performance and costs
- Anticipate and resolve day-to-day issues, complete root cause failure analyses, and take corrective actions
- Manage compliance, quality control, and quality assurance standards and specifications
- Maintain budgetary, scheduling, and project database oversight, and report regularly to senior management about progress, plans, and problems that could affect costs or schedules
- Coordinate property management at all organizational levels to meet deadlines on multiple projects and to implement personal property procedures.
- Proactively identify and recommend new methodologies to improve quality, cost, and process inefficiencies.
- End-to-end management of import/export process and documentation
- End-to-end management of all logistics-related claims
- Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements

Work Environment
This job operates in workshop and office environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, and presentation materials. This job also requires use of hand tools, site equipment and vehicles. This role is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand. Lifting of up to 75 lbs may occur. Expectation of exposure to weather (heat, cold, rain, snow).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours associated with contract work vary by contract. Flexibility is required of all candidates for both scheduling and duties assigned. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends is required based on contract needs.
Travel
Travel is associated with all contract work and may be required. Ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, or relevant field, preferred
- 8+ years of procurement and personal property management experience to include:
- Personal property/supplies needs analyses; and the acquisition, tracking, inventorying, reporting, maintenance, repair, and disposal of personal property in a Government environment
- Maintaining personal property databases
- Managing an inventory of at least 15,000 tracked items
- Knowledge of Federal property management regulations
- Experience in office re-locations is desirable.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
- Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
