OptiSkin Markowitz Medical Dermatology Group, Dr. Markowitz is a leader in the field of medical and cosmetic dermatology and her OptiSkin office is a warm boutique Dermatology practice with all the latest lasers and imaging technology and is located on the Upper East side of Manhattan.

Research/Medical Assistant

• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures
• Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines
• Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
• Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert provider of any low level supplies
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
• Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities
• Learn from current research coordinators and conduct part time research when Dermatology skills are up to par under the supervision of the prinicipal investigator and dlinical research manager
• Help with research publications

Qualifications

• College Degree required and if applying to medical school MCAT completed
• COVID-19 Vaccination required
• Candidates may submit proof of medical or religious exemption that comply with the state of New York’s Commissioner of Health requirements for review
• Dermatology experience preferred
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
• Experience working in healthcare or in healthcare research
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Excellent patient relation and customer services skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
