ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Processes weekly payroll through Paylocity, ensuring that payroll policies and procedures are followed, reviewing time records and inputting attendance/overtime data, researching/resolving issues/concerns/problems, making year-end adjustments, and remaining current on payroll practices/laws/etc.
Maintains/tracks attendance records, monitoring/tracking vacation/sick time, adjusting time records as needed and auditing time records to ensure compliance to policies/procedures.
Maintains employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential.
Provides administrative support by completing employee verification requests, worker’s compensation/disability administration, and setting up garnishments.
Processes union information by preparing/providing support documentation for union audits and reconciling/paying union invoices (dues, medical coverage).
Provides accounting/finance support by tracking payroll accruals, and creating reports (ad hoc, benefits, overtime).
Participates in providing a positive, productive work environment by ensuring the resolution of staff member problems/concerns, interpreting policies and procedures.
Coordinates all benefit plans (including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), COBRA, FSA, and supplemental insurance) by ensuring that all staff is properly enrolled when eligible, managing documentation to ensure accuracy/timeliness, communicating with broker/carriers to research/resolve employee issues/concerns/problems, managing open enrollment to ensure employee coverage, reviewing all plan documents to ensure accuracy.
Stays abreast of federal/state/local employment laws and ensures required employment posters are up to date and in compliance.
Coordinates workers’ compensation by reviewing all accident reports, conducting investigations if necessary, ensuring that claims are filed with the carrier, monitoring status of claims, completing all required forms, managing documentation to ensure accuracy/timeliness, communicating with employee on return to work status, communicating with carrier to research/resolve claims, resolve employee issues/concerns/problems, maintaining OSHA log and producing the yearly posting, promoting a safe work environment and assisting in enforcing safety rules.
Maintains the HRIS/Benefits system by inputting/tracking employee information.
Responds to all unemployment claims.
Performs the duties of the HR Manager in their absence.
All other duties/special projects assigned by the HR Manager.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a business-related discipline or equivalent experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Payroll and Human Resources required.
Strong interpersonal, listening, problem solving, analytical, creative thinking and multi-tasking skills required.
PC literacy (word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, database) also required.
Knowledge of federal/state/local employment laws and payroll/HRIS software also required.
Bi-lingual required
