Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Director to join our mattress manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, production planning, logistics, and inventory management. The Supply Chain Director will work closely with other departments and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products to meet customer demand.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Hires and trains departmental supervisors.
• Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage the production planning process, including capacity planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Lead cross-functional teams to continuously improve supply chain processes and systems.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.
• Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
• Establishes and monitors performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
• Maintains optimal inventories levels of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and factories to support manufacturing and sales
• Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
• Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
• Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
• Negotiates with suppliers and logistics providers to optimize delivery times and minimize transportation costs
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
• Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
• Establishes quality thresholds for the qualification of new materials.
• Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirement.
• Identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
• Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs.
• Periodic travel to internal facilities and to vendor sites
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Strong Computer Skills: Excel, PowerBI, Access, SQL
• Proven knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Inventory Management
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a Supply Chain Director, supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required
