At Divinity Prophet we are committed to meeting the needs of youth, individuals, and the communities we serve. Our mission is to help prevent potential homelessness of youth exiting the Foster System by providing transitional housing, reentry assistance and other important supportive services.
General: Divinity Prophet is seeking an HR Generalist who will work on a variety of cross functional human resource tasks. The ideal candidate is solution focused, investigative, and adept. The HR Generalist is primarily responsible for the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs in the areas of full cycle recruitment, employee orientation and onboarding, policy development & documentation, performance management, and salary and benefit administration. The HR Generalist is charged with managing employee relations matters including but not limited to coaching supervisors and managers on the subject of staff performance, absenteeism, misconduct, insubordination, compliance with policy and protocol, and other staff related topics. This position will have accountability for ensuring compliance with employment laws; overseeing employee compliance within the organization; ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulatory bodies, company policy and procedure and all other established protocols. The HR Generalist will be expected to promote a positive workplace culture while maintaining an open door policy. In addition, this position shall continually research, resolve, respond to and document matters pertaining to COVID-19.
Job Objectives:
-Accomplish Human Resources duties by determining accountability; communicating and enforcing agency values, policies and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training and coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, apprising and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
-Develop organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to upper management; establish functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
-Establish HR related operational strategies by evaluating trends, determining productivity, and effectiveness; accumulate resources; resolve problems and implement change.
-Avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing regulations, recommending new procedures and complying with legal requirements.
-Help craft, implement, and oversee various HR policies and processes. Lead projects and programs, including creating communications, training materials, and other change management mechanisms to educate stakeholders on new and revised policies, processes, and programs.
-Oversee HR compliance areas including I-9 and E-Verify compliance, reasonable accommodation, leave of absence/FMLA and other leave/time off policies.
-Participate in and monitor orientation and training programs. Ensure managers are using positive coaching counseling and discipline to address issues and concerns with subordinates.
-File/submit appropriate employee compliance reports with regulatory agencies, as necessary. Maintain strict compliance of personnel records.
-Routinely meet deadlines and demonstrate the ability to multi task.
-Monitor compliance with required wage and labor laws; Process time sheets, approve sick pay, personal hours, overtime, bereavement, etc.
-Create and maintain current knowledge of company policies and procedures, employee handbook, benefit plans, and other HR related legal requirements.
