Residential Care Services, part of the Aging and Long Term Support Administration (ALTSA) is seeking a Complaint Resolution Unit Lead in our Lacey headquarters. RCS is responsible for the state licensure and oversight of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, intermediate care facilities for people with intellectual disabilities, enhanced service facilities, and adult family homes, and certification of community residential services and support providers.
The Program Specialist 4 role is fundamental in meeting mandated CRU response timelines. In this role, you will serve as the lead, advising and consulting with staff to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and practices. You will use your knowledge, skills, and experience with CRU software and RCS policies to ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of vulnerable adults in the State of Washington.
Some of what you’ll be doing- Initial reviews of all reports and complaints received
- Prioritize complaints received within timeframes, assign, oversee and monitor workflow of the unit
- Direct workload priorities and monitor assignments in order to meet timelines
- Provide consultation to intake and field staff to determine correct course of action
- Ensure all reports and intakes are accounted for, processed timely, and accurately
Who should apply- Professionals with a Bachelor’s degree, and 2 years experience in a related field including planning, policy research, coordination, and consultation with a variety of public and private agencies, organizations, and/or levels of government and supervisory experience
- Or, a minimum of 6 years of recent consecutive work experience as a Program Specialist 3 or higher in the Complaint Resolution Unit of Residential Care Services

- Federal and state regulations governing the licensing and operation of nursing homes, intermediate care facilities for people with intellectual disabilities, adult family homes, assisted living facilities, enhanced service facilities, and certified supporting living setting

Vacation (Annual Leave)You begin accruing vacation starting your first month of employment. Since we value your loyalty, the amount of vacation you can accrue increases the longer you work with us. Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year. Vacation accrues for full-time employees per WAC 357-31-165.
